St John’s Crawley is a church in the heart of Crawley. We’re a part of the HTB network, with the big vision to evangelise to the nation, revitalise the church and transform society. For us here in Crawley our vision is to Love Jesus, Love Church, Love People and Love Crawley.
In September 2017 a small team from St Peter’s Brighton planted our 11:30 service into St John’s. Over the last 3 years we have grown into a community of over 400 worshippers. Crawley has been and will continue to be hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic and we are loving and serving the local community at this time, seeing God move in amazing ways.
We are seeking a creative, visionary self-starter for this role, with scope to develop this role as it progresses, adding value to the team. We encourage applications from those of black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
This is role is part of our active youth ministry. You will join our church staff team as we seek to be audacious, united, generous, humble and tenacious. Areas of Responsibility
Youth Work
1.1. Preparation and delivery of our Friday Youth club
1.2. Delivery of Younger Youth and Older Youth sessions on Sunday
1.3. Collaborate to cast vision for the future
Terms & Conditions
Normal working hours: 2.5 days per week including Sundays; other hours to be flexible including a Friday evening and other occasional evening hours. Also includes joining us at Focus, our church family week away, and the Leadership Conference.
Starting Salary: £19,000 pro rata
Annual leave: 25 Days per annum pro rata
All reasonable expenses will be reimbursed upon approval by line manager. Appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. There is an occupational requirement for the role holder to be a Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 S.3.
Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period, initially of 3 months. Notice period of 1 week during probation rising to 4 weeks after the probationary period.

Visually creative, able to inspire the team to maximise creativity and get the best results with what we have
Desirable
Preparation of teaching material, resources for sessions and the delivery of the session. To devise programmes that will enable the youth to invite their friends to participate.
To cast a vision for, and energise the youth to know and believe that they are the hope for Crawley.
To encourage youth to take up opportunities to serve in the wider church community.
Work Experience
We are seeking someone who is passionate for young people, as well as having transferrable skills.
