Steve & Liz Burston
Steve and Liz both met while working in London and have been married for 20 years. Through their marriage and journey together, they have experienced the amazing love and grace of God and are passionate that St John’s would be a place where this same love and grace would be experienced. In September 2017 they began with their three daughters Grace, Alice and Lily the new exciting adventure of leading St John’s Crawley
Jimmy is married to the wonderful Debs and has spent the past few years serving as Curate in Horsham. Prior to being trained for ordination, he spent a number of years involved in church-based youth work in Hertfordshire and Surrey, despite being based in the south-east for a while he is a proud Welshman, with a passion for football, music, good coffee and Jesus.
Martin is our curate at St John’s Crawley, having trained at St Mellitus College, London. He is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit and oversees Alpha. Martin previously spent a career in Sussex Police working in partnership with churches, charities and local authorities to help the most vulnerable in society. Married to Nicky with two teenage daughters, Martin is a keen mountaineer and assistant scout leader and enjoys running, swimming and spending time with friends.
Pete moved to Brighton four years ago to study music and got involved with St. Peter’s Brighton straight away. During his time there he has grown in faith and developed his passion for seeing God work through creativity. He is excited about seeing God’s transforming power as people encounter Him in their expressions of faith.
James is our Worship Pastor. He has lived in Crawley his whole life and is married to Emily. James has a passion for sung worship and music, for creativity and all things guitar, and is so excited to see the worshipping community in the heart of Crawley grow.
Ross came to Crawley in 2007 on a gap year with Youth For Christ, where his heart broke for the young people of the town. Ross has been involved in wide variety of youth contexts in the area, including rugby coaching and working at a local secondary school for 8 years. Ross is also a volunteer and trustee with Street360, the local Youth for Christ centre that works across the churches of the town.
Reninca is married to Carwyn and has three children. She has previously worked as a special needs primary school teacher and worked for Hope Health Action as a missionary in Haiti and with refugees in Uganda. Reninca is passionate about including all children no matter what their background, disability or challenges. Reninca is passionate about helping children know that they are unconditionally loved by God and discover who Jesus is for themselves through Bible based fun teaching
