What is it?
The Bridge Cafe is a social action cafe run by St John’s Crawley. The Bridge Cafe started out in 2018 with a vision to come from blessing in order to bless others by offering freshly cooked breakfasts to probation officers and their clients.
In January 2019 The Bridge Cafe launched Little Treasures at The Bridge, a group for parents and carers with babies and pre-school aged children, with a vision to provide a safe environment for people to come and feel supported.
As of June 2019 The Bridge Cafe has partnered with CAP (Christians Against Poverty) to open a drop-in cafe for those struggling with debt. There are trained debt counsellors and volunteers each week to support those desperate for relief from debt stress and living in poverty.
“I have come more often to my appointments, I find it a better environment to relax, chat to my probation officer as well as the volunteers from the church”
“It is a wonderful place, safe and healing.”
“It is a unique way to bring the Lord and the people together and feel safe within the environment”
As of April 24th and 25th 2019 we have been running for a year! We have served over 60 clients many of whom we have got to know and love. As trust and relationships develop we hope to see Gods transforming love setting people free in order to lead lives full of hope and purpose.
We would love more volunteers to join our team so if you think that could be you or for more information please email Helen@stjohnscrawley.com
